The African Trade Insurance Agency (ATI) has appointed Norm Kimber as a senior underwriter to its team in Nairobi.

He most recently worked at Miga, where he held the position of senior underwriter, and before that at Canada’s EDC for 15 years.

Kimber has worked extensively in the extractive, energy and infrastructure sectors in the context of investment, export credit and project finance support.

His contribution, says a statement issued by the ATI, is expected to help its underwriting team “manage the growing pipeline of complex projects and enhance the company’s relationships with export credit agencies, lending and insurance partners, and with other political risk insurance providers”.

Senior underwriting officer Humphrey Mwangi left the ATI at the end of last year to take up a position at Rand Merchant Bank.
