ANZ has brought in HSBC banker Will Rathvon as global head of natural resources right at the close of the third quarter of 2011.

Rathvon moves to the Australian bank from his role as global head of resources and energy group at HSBC, where his position covered oil and gas, power, utilities, renewable and the metals and mining business.

He also once held the role of HSBC’s global head of project and export finance and has totted up more than 30 years’ experience in the resource sector.

ANZ chief executive officer, institutional, Shayne Elliott says: “We’re fortunate to have someone of Will’s international banking calibre join us and bring a depth of experience as we look to significantly grow our natural resources business.
