ANZ has announced changes to its structured export finance (SEF) team.

Byeong Il Lee has joined as a director, based in Seoul and is responsible for working with ANZ’s Korean customers through supporting their outbound capital goods export and investment activities, and also Korean ECAs Kexim and K-sure.

“Our Korean client base continues to grow. We also see growth in non-Korean clients who are interested in tapping Korean ECA financing,” ANZ global head of SEF Paul Richards says.

Lee joins from ANZ’s Vietnam office where he was in charge of the Korea desk based in Ho Chi Minh City. He has experience in relationship roles and project and export finance with ANZ and HSBC before that. Lee will report to Simon Jones, Asia Pacific head of SEF.

Elsewhere, Irene Gao has been appointed manager, SEF, based in London. She has relocated from the ANZ’s Sydney-based SEF team. She will report to Antero Ranta, director SEF London.

Gao’s appointment will strengthen ANZ’s European capability as the bank’s clients look to Asia-Pacific markets.
