Allianz Trade has announced a trio of senior appointments for the Northern Europe region, part of a wider series of leadership changes at the trade credit insurance giant.
Benoit Semelin (pictured) has been named regional chief financial and administrative officer, succeeding Sébastien Rageot, who was named chief executive for the Nordics in July.
Brussels-based Semelin has spent 22 years at Allianz Trade, and has held chief financial officer roles in France, Turkey and the Asia Pacific region. He is tasked with using his financial expertise and leadership to support Allianz Trade’s growth in Northern Europe.
Sorina Eremia has been promoted to regional credit director, following the appointment of Matt Williams to chief executive for the UK and Ireland, a role he took up in July.
Also based in Brussels, Eremia has spent nearly 20 years at Allianz Trade, leading underwriting teams in Central and Eastern Europe, the UK and Ireland and the Benelux countries. In her new role she will drive Allianz Trade’s credit segment strategy across Northern Europe, the insurer says.
Craig Ironside has taken up the role of regional commercial director based in the UK, after Rodrigo Jimenez was named chief executive of the Asia Pacific region, a role he takes up on October 1.
Ironside has held various roles at Allianz Trade since 1999, including leading commercial functions in the UK and as group head of commercial underwriting and product development in Paris. He is expected to oversee the growth of the insurer’s commercial functions across Northern Europe.
The trio also join the board of management for Allianz Trade in the region. Semelin and Eremia began in their roles in July, and Ironside in August.
The appointments “will propel us forward in each of their respective fields as we expand our multi-line offer and prioritise top-tier service”, says Marine Bochot, head of the Northern Europe region.
