Simon Dodd has joined ABN Amro as head of project finance and country executive for Greater China.

Dodd is based in Hong Kong and joins from Intesa Sanpaolo, where he was chief executive for Hong Kong and general manager, Asia Pacific, for 10 years. His expertise is in advisory, structuring and deal arranging, across energy, commodities, food, transport and logistics and financial institutions.

Before Intesa Sanpaolo, Dodd worked for Bank of America in Hong Kong, Australia, Vietnam and the US.

At ABN Amro he reports to Asia Pacific CEO, Maureen De Rooij. His appointment follows ABN Amro opening a Shanghai branch in 2016 as it looks to strengthen its presence in Asia.

De Rooij says: “We are very pleased to have found a leader of Simon’s calibre who can accelerate the momentum we have in the industries we focus on and enhance the product capabilities we offer.”
