Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp’s (SMBC) International Trade and Structured Finance Group headed by Takashi Shimahara has expanded with the recent hiring of Mark Ampuero.  Ampuero worked previously at Standard Chartered Bank as head of forfaiting for the Americas and before that was with CIBC World Markets based in New York.
The team has been further strengthened with the internally appointed Koaru Huruya, senior vice-president, and Hirofumi Inoue, vice-president, in its drive to become a recognised trade finance player in the Americas.


SMBC ranks third in the world in terms of assets and has clearly committed to develop its trade and structured finance business in the region building on its strengths in Asia and the Middle East.
