Driving gender diversity and inclusion is not only the right thing to do – it also makes good business sense.

That was one of the key points made by Rana Nawas, the keynote speaker at GTR’s latest Women in Trade Finance event in Dubai on February 19, 2019.

Nawas is a corporate veteran, speaker, strategic advisor and host of the Middle East’s chart-topping podcast When Women Win. She is also the president of Ellevate Dubai, a chapter of the world’s oldest businesswomen’s network.

“The business case for gender parity is irrefutable. We now have decades of research that supports it. We now know, in numbers, what the economic impact of having diverse teams is. We know that if you increase the percent of women in leadership roles from zero to 30, you’ll get a 15% increase in profitability,” Nawas said, referencing a recent study by the Peterson Institute for International Economics.

Her keynote was followed by a panel discussion with leading women from the trade finance industry. Watch the video from the event below and sign up for the GTR Women in Trade Finance newsletter for future news and events.
