Arab Emirates player Dana Gas has hit oil in Egypt’s south. Dana last year discovered a field that could contain 8mn barrels of crude. The oil ia a light, 37 degrees API crude.
The well was drilled to 4,000 feet on a location about 80km northwest of Aswan, near Kom Ombo.
Centurion holds Kom Ombo Block 2, with a 100% interest.
Dana also hit gas at a well drilled on the West Manzala Concession, with flows hitting 16.5mn cubic feet per day.
