Financial services group Baft-IFSA has chosen a new board to be chaired by Barclays Corporate vice-chairman Jeremy Wilson.

At Barclays, Wilson is responsible for engagement at board and executive committee level with the bank’s major clients.

“It is an honour to chair this prestigious international group at such a crucial time,” he says.

“Baft-IFSA has a crucial role to play. It must serve the industry and its members around the world as they grapple with the aftermath of a global financial crisis, the emergence of a new economic axis and the demands these place on their customers, shareholders, regulators, employees and, above all, the societies they serve.”

Martin Abrahamson from Bank of America Merrill Lynch was elected as vice-chair of the group while James Peterson from Northern Trust is now Baft-IFSA’s secretary and treasurer.
