TNK President Simon Kukes has been appointed as special advisor to the president and executive board of the holding company TNK-BP. BP’s director for strategic projects in the North Sea Simon Bennett has been appointed as vice president and director of the business support division at TNK-BP. BP commercial director for oil production in the Gulf of Mexico David Cook is to be vice-president and director of the economic planning division in the new holding company. Bennett and Cook will answer directly to TNK-BP president Robert Dudley.

BP vice-president for production in the Gulf of Mexico James Dupre has been appointed as executive vice-president and director of technological division at the new company. He will answer directly to production and technology managing director Lawrence Smith. BP vice-president for production strategy and projects Chris Slager will be executive vice-president for strategy and new projects. He will answer to TNK-BP executive director German Khan.

Anthony Considine has been appointed as executive vice president for marketing, sales and refining at TNK-BP. TNK vice-president and director of the company’s service division Felix Lubashevsky will carry out the same function in the new holding company. Igor Maidannik, head of the TNK legal department, has been appointed as TNK-BP chief lawyer and head of the company’s legal division. The appointments will come into effect only after the deal to merge TNK and BP is finalised. Over the next two months it is planned to appoint “third tier managers”, to agree the TNK-BP charter and also establish priority projects for the holding company.
