The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) has provided a loan facility for SME wind projects in Denmark.

The €30mn loan has been issued to Ringkjøbing Landbobank, a Danish bank, which will on lend to SMEs. The bank already has a “substantial pipeline” of wind energy projects which require financed. Typical loans will support the purchase of production equipment.

The NIB’s CEO says: “The SME sector creates a considerable share in aggregate output and employment in our member countries. Therefore, we expect the loan facility with Ringkjøbing Landbobank to help raise the productivity and efficiency of investments in wind power projects and SMEs.”
