KfW Ipex has loaned €50mn for the modernisation of Dusseldorf airport.

Dusseldorf is Germany’s third largest airport and the financing’s overall aim is to enable the handling of large aircraft. The loan will be used to upgrade various parts of the airport’s infrastructure, including optimising safety measures, improving energy efficiency and speeding up turnaround processes.

Christian Murach, member of the management board of KfW Ipex, says. “For a hub to be successful at an international level it needs state-of-the-art, efficient infrastructure. The support provided by our financing directly serves the strategic interests of ensuring the continuing development of Düsseldorf airport as a business concern.”
