Deutsche Bank has appointed Wang Tao as head of trade finance for China, within its Global Transaction Banking (GTB) division. Based in Shanghai, Wang will be directly responsible for local trade sales and the expansion of the bank’s product offerings in China.

Roger Packham, regional head of trade finance, Asia Pacific says: “We are confident that Wang will use his wealth of experience to help drive the bank’s expansion strategy and its goal to become a leading trade finance bank in China.”

Wang brings with him over 10 years of trade finance experience, with his most recent role being head of forfaiting for HSBC in China where he was responsible for delivering both structured financing and forfaiting solutions within the China market. He has also worked in the corporate sector in both China and Thailand.

Julia Wu, head of GTB, China adds: “China is an important market for Deutsche Bank as we believe it holds numerous opportunities to further extend our transaction banking business in the country. The bank is keen to leverage on its successes in other Asia countries and replicate similar accomplishments in China.”
