Identrus has teamed with Nippon System Development Co, Ltd (NSD) to form Identrus Japan Inc, a new company to accelerate deployment of the Identrus system throughout

  • Japan’s financial institutions and corporate community. Identrus Japan will build on the momentum established by four Japanese Identrus banks Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi, Mizuho Corporate Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and UFJ.
    Identrus Japan marks the creation of the first Identrus affiliate. Identrus Japan will focus on Identrus PKI systems management and technical integration of the Identrus platform for banks and their customers, in addition to serving as Identrus” primary distributor and support provider in the region.

    “We formed Identrus Japan with Nippon System Development as part of our commitment to help our member banks find the most cost-effective ways to leverage Identrus authentication services,” says Andrew McLauchlan, executive chairman of Identrus. “Identrus Japan will enable participating Identrus banks in Japan to focus on the development and deployment of secure e-business applications without the need to act as their own CA, greatly reducing costs and overall complexity of the solution.”

    Banks in Japan that leverage Identrus Japan’s CA services will no longer need to manufacture or issue digital certificates, greatly reducing the technology and compliance costs associated with operating a CA. This will allow banks to provide identity authentication and customer management services to their commercial customers more quickly and cost effectively.
