Supporting the growth and strategic importance of its business in China, ABN Amro has recruited a senior banker to boost the bank’s coverage of its Chinese corporate client base.
Timothy Chang joins as an executive director for global clients coverage in the bank’s wholesale clients corporate and investment banking business. Chang will be based in Beijing and reports to Catherine Cai Hongjun, managing director and head of global clients for China.
Chang was previously vice-president at JPMorgan Chase in Beijing, where he had played key roles in major deals and developing the bank’s investment banking business in China.
Chang’s appointment is ABN Amro’s fourth senior hire to its Chinese corporate and investment banking team in the last six months. In September, Cai was recruited from JPMorgan. Li Tian was also recruited from Bank of China International’s investment banking division last November, to lead ABN’s financial institutions coverage team in China.
Last December, Kenneth Tseung was hired from BNP Paribas Peregrine Capital to be the team’s relationship banker for global clients.
