KfW Ipex-Bank and Euler Hermes are facilitating German exports of special equipment to Brazil-based company Berneck with a bilateral loan worth €51mn.

Euler Hermes will provide the export credit guarantee for the equipment, which is for the environmentally-friendly production of particle boards. There are 10 different exporters involved in the deal, including SMEs from Germany and elsewhere in Europe.

“We are financing investments in modern equipment for our long-standing customer Berneck,” says KfW board member Markus Scheer. “With the new machines the company will be able to significantly increase its environmentally-friendly production.”

Berneck is Brazil’s second-largest particle board manufacturer. KfW has been financing the company’s ability to produce since 2001, the current export of equipment from Europe is expected to expand the company’s production at the Curitibanos site in the south of the country.

“The Brazilian economy continues to grow, and with it, opportunities for German and European special equipment manufacturers to boost their unit sales,” says Scheer.
