The limit for Brazilian companies and citizens to export products by way of a simplified system doubled to R20,000 (US$9,000) from R10,000, claims the Brazilian authorities.


The measure aims to lead more smaller and medium enterprises into foreign trade. Simplified imports will remain limited to US$3,000.


The simplified form has less in the way of red tape and can be sent by mail, while the standard form demands exporters to submit far more documents.
Such exports fetched US$120mn in 2005, a 21% rise over 2004.
