  • Brazil’s national development bank BNDES has approved a US$109mn loan to Peruvian natural gas transport company TGP to finance the export of steel tubes for the Camisea project. Brazilian steel tube manufacturer Confab, a unit of Argentina’s Tenaris Group, is supplying the tubes to TGP. By August, Confab will be supplying 163,000 tonnes of tubes to TGP.

    Confab has been awarded other contracts in the region in recent months: it supplied 137,000 tonnes of tubes to the OCP heavy crude pipeline in Ecuador, and 90,000 tonnes of tubes for the Gasyrg pipeline in Bolivia that the Transierra consortium is building.
