Mitigram assembles advisory board

Trade finance fintech Mitigram has set up an advisory board “to provide critical and strategic counsel” to the company.

The three founding members are Carl Wegner, Meral Şengöz and Merisa Lee Gimpel.

Wegner was previously chief executive of Contour, the blockchain-based trade finance platform that closed in 2023 and was ultimately bought by XDC Ventures earlier this year.

Şengöz was a trade finance product manager at Türkiye İş Bankası until 2021, alongside advisory roles for trade digitalisation platforms, and has a “deep knowledge” of the Turkish market, Mitigram said.

Gimpel, formerly of Lloyds Bank and Revolut, joins the board alongside a part-time role as product enablement lead at Enigio and running her consultancy Digital Trade Works.

Founded in 2014, Mitigram provides a platform for banks and corporates to manage trade finance instruments such as letters of credit and guarantees.

Joshua Kroeker, Mitigram’s chief executive, said: “The collective expertise of Carl, Meral and Merisa is unmatched, and their insights will be a catalyst for our growth as we pursue strategic growth opportunities.”
