Trade credit insurer RKH Specialty has appointed Gert Schlossmacher as co-managing director of its financial risks division.

Joining in January 2016, he will report to Barnaby Rugge-Price, CEO.

He moves from Euler Hermes, where he spent almost 25 years, most recently as group head of global sales. During his time there, he also served as a member of the board of management in Germany and Austria.

In his new role at RKH, he will work alongside Neil Galletti to develop the firm’s international trade credit business.

Since RKH is part of the Hyperion Insurance group, Schlossmacher will also work closely with the company’s international retail broking business, Howden International, to capitalise on opportunities and leverage his experience in favour of the group’s overall strategy.

Rugge-Price says: “I am extremely pleased to welcome Gert to RKH; we have ambitious plans for growth in our financial risks division, and his expertise, experience and industry reputation will play a key part in this.

“Gert will contribute significantly across all our key product lines: political risks and structured credit; international trade credit; and surety. Our clients’ needs are evolving beyond these separate products, which are often sold in isolation. Having someone of Gert’s calibre will help us respond to the evolution of the product and keep us ahead of the market. We are already a leader in the political risks market, and with Gert on board we look forward to achieving a similar position in the trade credit space.”
