AxiomSL, a company that provides risk management solutions, has appointed Andrew Wood as country manager for Australia.

Tasked with growing the company’s profile and client base in Asia Pacific, he will report to regional CEO and chief product officer, Olivier Kamoun.

Wood is based in Sydney, and joins from an interim consulting role at IMF Bentham. Prior to this, he worked at Macquarie Group, where he held a number of roles in the risk, banking and tech teams. Before this, he worked at Standard Chartered in Singapore, having had an earlier spell at Macquarie, and other roles at HSBC, Oracle, JP Morgan, Credit Suisse and Deloitte.

Kamoun says his appointment will help the company cater for financial institutions dealing with tightening regulatory conditions. “The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has recently released a slew of new reporting requirements with some coming into effect mid-2017. We are currently in talks with several major Australian banks and a common trend we’ve seen is that these financial institutions are now aware that they need to be better equipped with a strategic framework ahead of implementation day,” he says.

Wood adds: “I am looking forward to being a part of the AxiomSL APAC team. Australia will be a key focus for AxiomSL this year and I am pleased to be joining the firm at this exciting time of growth. With the new reporting requirements coming into effect, it is essential for financial institutions to be equipped with an integrated platform that will enable them to swiftly adapt to the evolving regulatory environment both domestically and internationally.”
