A year after the pandemic’s onset a degree of global trade supply and demand equilibrium has been reestablished, though the impact of pandemic related disruption persists in areas such as trade financing, logistics, warehousing and shipping. A fast-evolving geopolitical backdrop and the spectre of vaccine nationalism, not to mention Brexit and enactment of the AfCFTA, compounds the complexities faced by those trading across East Africa.
