Stuart Ashworth has been appointed executive director of Willis’s Singapore office, and has relocated from London.

He will be supporting the insurer’s operations in the Asia Pacific region, as well as expanding its political and credit risk business.

Ashworth was previously a team leader within the Willis political and credit risk department based in London, specialising in global investment banks, trading, and service companies, and overseeing an emerging market insured portfolio of over US$3bn.

Robert Perry, head of political and credit risks, Asia Pacific at Willis, tells GTR: “The Asia Pacific region is an area of exceptional growth in the arena of political and credit insurance and Stuart’s experience handling large and complicated transactions will be a huge benefit to our clients. We have had a specialist team in Singapore for several years supporting our Asia-based clients and we are committed to expanding our Asia presence in 2013 and beyond.”
