Igor Emelyanov has swapped Russia’s VTB Bank for Sberbank to become its head of trade finance sales.

Emelyanov spent just over six years with state-owned VTB Bank as vice-president and deputy global head of trade and export finance.

The new role marks Emelyanov’s second stint with Sberbank as he previously served as head of projects for its trade finance and financial institutions (FI) department between 2010 and 2012. In this position he was in charge of trade deals origination, structuring, and communication with financial institutions.

From 2008 to 2010 he was acting head of international business and the FI department for B&N Bank, with responsibility for its conventional trade and export credit agency-covered finance business, syndicated loans, Eurobonds and domestic bonds placement.

Before that, Emelyanov was MDM Bank’s director for its international interbank funding department between 2007 and 2008.

He will continue to be based in Moscow.
