Former Wells Fargo trade head Daniel Son has joined US Bank as head of global large cap banks, global trade and supply chain finance.

In this role, Son has responsibility for leading the bank’s global trade and supply chain finance business as well as the international financial institutions (FI) and large cap depository FI client coverage, counterparty and network management business.

According to a US Bank spokesperson, the role is a new one for the bank, and combines responsibilities not previously handled by one person.

Son joins US Bank after spending 17 years at Wells Fargo in the US and Hong Kong serving in various global trade and payments leadership roles, most recently as head of trade for the Americas. Prior to his banking career, Son worked in corporate treasury, procurement and export sales in Australia, Korea and Panama.

He is based in US Bank’s offices in Charlotte, North Carolina.
