Amit Dewan has been appointed to the newly-created position of head of financing and advisory for Asia Pacific at UniCredit, effective July 1.

Dewan will be responsible for debt capital markets, equity capital markets, corporate finance advisory, export finance and natural resources in the region. He will relocate from London to Singapore to take up the new role and will report Michele Amadei, head of Asia Pacific.

Dewan moves to the role from his current position managing the lending team within infrastructure and power project finance at UniCredit, based in London. Before that, he worked in various other roles in financing and advisory including in project finance and corporate finance. Before joining UniCredit in 2007, he worked at Bank of Scotland and ANZ Investment Bank in the UK and Asia.

“UniCredit’s focus in the Asia Pacific region is to support its European clients with their investment and trade activities in the region as well as to accompany Asian clients in their development strategy and business initiatives in Western, Central and Eastern Europe,” reads a statement issued by the bank. The bank is active in Asia Pacific through branches in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan as well as representative offices in Beijing, Hanoi, Mumbai and Seoul.
