Carsten Böhler has joined Swiss Export Risk Insurance (Serv) as head of acquisition and representation, a newly-created position for the Swiss export credit agency.

He makes the move from Credit Suisse, where he had been for 13 years, most recently as COO of commodity trade finance. Before that he worked as a quality assurance consultant at Swiss multinational LafargeHolcim.

At Serv, Böhler will lead new customer acquisition and be responsible for increasing the export credit agency’s international profile.

“His aim will be to identify projects in the buyer’s market in which Swiss exporters – in particular SMEs – could participate with funding from Serv,” Serv says in a statement.

Böhler is based in Zurich and reports to Serv’s chief insurance officer, Heribert Knittlmayer.
