Standard Chartered has made two promotions within its transaction banking global sales team.

Neil Daswani, Standard Chartered’s former regional head of transaction banking for North Asia, has been promoted to global head of strategic client coverage group (SCCG), transaction banking.

In his new role, Daswani will be responsible for growing the SCCG portfolio, which includes the bank’s corporate and financial institutions clients.

Daswani has spent 20 years with Standard Chartered and has worked in various senior positions in transaction banking and client coverage in Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

He will be based in Singapore, where he will also continue in his current role until a successor is appointed.

Additionally, Standard Chartered’s former transaction banking country head for Singapore, Sumit Aggarwal, has been promoted to regional head of Southeast Asia where he will oversee the sales teams for the region.

Based out of Singapore, Aggarwal will focus on supporting clients who are looking to leverage the growth between intra-regional trade.

The pair will report to Jiten Arora, the bank’s global head of sales.
