Sompo Canopius has hired two trade credit underwriters from AIG, as the specialty insurer looks to expand its trade credit focus, GTR has learned.

William Clark and Scott Morrison will be moving from AIG to Sompo Canopius’ political risk and crisis management division in the second quarter of 2017.

Clark, who will lead the company’s trade credit insurance team, is currently head of UK trade credit at AIG, a role he has held since 2011. He previously worked at Santander, Lloyds Bank, Central Trust, Atradius and HSBC.

Morrison, who will join Clark’s team, is currently head of supply chain finance at AIG Europe. Prior to this he worked at Euler Hermes UK for over 13 years.
