Demetrio Salorio is set to replace Alvaro Huete as UK head of global finance for Société Générale, effective May 15.

Salorio (pictured) will be based in London and report Huete, who is staying with the bank, and Sadia Ricke, UK chief country officer.

He will hold responsibility for the bank’s UK global finance division, which includes asset finance, capital markets, natural resources and infrastructure, syndication and structured finance.

He moves to the UK global financing role from his position as the bank’s global head of debt capital markets (DCM), which he has held since 2010. He joined Société Générale in 1991 in Madrid, where he held different positions within DCM and global finance activities.

In 2007 he was appointed deputy head of DCM and in 2008 became co-head of DCM, before taking on his most recent role.

The appointment of Salorio frees Huete to focus on his other role as deputy head of global finance, which he has held since taking over from Slawomir Krupa in 2015. Krupa went on to become CEO for Société Générale Americas.

In his global capacity, Huete reports to Pierre Palmieri, global head of global finance.
