Société Générale global transaction banking (GTB) has appointed Agnès Joly as global head of trade services, replacing Thierry Roehm.

Based in Paris, Joly reports to Christian Behaghel, head of GTB. She was previously deputy head of trade services, and joined the bank in 1984.

“Agnès’ career at Société Générale spans over 30 years and her experience has helped the bank increase its international exposure, open new routes and develop its people. She is a well-proven leader and the natural choice for the position, we are very pleased to see her continuing to lead our trade services division to new successes,” Behaghel says of the appointment.

Roehm has moved to “a senior advisory role” within the bank’s GTB business, focusing in particular on digital innovation in trade finance. He will also represent Société Générale in international trade finance banking organisations.
