Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) has appointed Federico Turegano as the new global head of the natural resources and energy financing business line.

He will be replacing Denis Childs, who is moving to head up the bank’s newly-created emerging markets, environment and sustainable development department. Both departments fall within the same capital raising and financing division of the bank.

Turegano previously held the joint-role of deputy head of the natural resources division, as well as head of the energy group for the Americas. Sadia Ricke and Dominique Beretti have now been appointed as Turegano’s new deputies.

There have been a number of other changes within the natural resources business line. The structured commodity finance and mining finance division will be led by Chin-Eav Eap, formerly managing director for strategic and acquisition finance. He replaces Sadia Ricke.

The trade and commodity finance team is now led by Eric Lelay, formerly deputy to Dominque Beretti.

A new platform within the business line has also been created, called Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).  Philippe Landry will head up this area of business, moving from his previous role as head of metals and minerals for structured commodity finance.

The project and reserve-based finance for energy sector will continue to be led by Robin Baker.
