Law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has named Peter Glover as a partner in its Hong Kong team.

He relocates from London and will advise clients on shipping, trade, marine insurance and disputes.

A master mariner, before entering a career in private law in 2009, Glover spent 11 years at sea on oil major tankers and has expertise in many areas of shipping.

In his legal career, he has experience acting for multinational companies, shipowners, charterers, banks and insurance in dispute resolution around trade, commercial shipping, admiralty, salvage, pollution, investigations, marine insurance, risk management and regulatory compliance.

Global head of transport at the firm Harry Theochari says: “Asia is of fundamental importance to the global shipping industry and China will likely become the world’s leading maritime power in less than a decade. Peter’s arrival in Hong Kong further extends the market-leading services we offer to clients in the region as the shipping industry moves east.”

Emea head of dispute resolution and litigation Deirdre Walker adds: “Peter is an exceptionally talented litigator with a deep understanding of the issues that affect the shipping sector worldwide. He is a tremendous asset to our team and will undoubtedly drive forward our contentious offering in Asia.”
