ANZ has appointed Christina Tonkin as head of structured debt. Tonkin, who has over 15 years experience in structured debt financing, joins from Westpac where she was head of debt products.

In her new role, she will be responsible for strengthening ANZ’s market positions across structured debt, bringing focus to the bank’s activities in project finance, structured export finance, leasing and structured asset finance, leveraged finance, and syndications.

Tonkin will report to Cathryn Carver, managing director, corporate and structured financing, and will be based in Sydney.

Tonkin’s appointment follows the recent appointment of Julie Hunter as head of debt capital markets. Hunter, who also joined from Westpac, reports to Carver and is responsible for developing ANZ’s debt capital markets capabilities in securitisation, bonds, private placements and structured credit.
