The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has named Tetsuya Uchida, a Japanese banker, to head its operations in northwest Russia.

Uchida, who has been working for the last four years as head of the Moscow office of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), becomes the EBRD’s chief representative in St Petersburg.

He will report to Victor Pastor, director of the EBRD’s Russia team and resident representative in Moscow.

Uchida replaces Robert Sasson, who has returned to London after a 12-year stint in St Petersburg.
