HSBC has appointed Desmond Wee as the new head of sales, Asia-Pacific, trade services and supply chain. He will be leading efforts in the Asia-Pacific region to develop a sales strategy for all its business customers from small enterprises to multinational corporations.

Commenting on his new role, Wee says: “In today’s market, clients of all sizes are increasingly turning to HSBC for advice on best practices in traditional trade as well as emerging trends such as end-to-end financing of their supply chains. Our solutions help clients maintain a competitive edge and it is important that strong sales resources are in place to meet client needs.”

Previously Wee worked as a sector sales head for Asia-Pacific, payments and cash management at HSBC. He joined the bank as a management trainee in 1996. 
Based in Hong Kong, Wee will report to Lawrence Webb, global head of trade services and supply chain.
