Sullivan & Worcester has welcomed Merrill Kramer as a new of counsel in its energy and project finance team in Washington.

He was previously principal at Kramer Associates, specialising in energy and telecommunications, project development, energy regulation and project finance.

He also spent six years as a project finance partner and chair of the derivatives and structured products practice at New York law firm Chadbourne & Parke.

In 2008, Kramer founded Alternegy Holdings, a private investment firm advising the renewable energy and telecommunications industries in the development, financing and acquisition of renewable energy projects – a role he continues to hold.

Additionally, he has served on the board of One Roof Energy, a solar leasing company that he helped to take public, and on the board of director of New Pacific Ethanol Company, the largest ethanol firm in California.
