Sergey Otroschenki has been appointed as the new director of raw materials at Rusal, where he will manage the provision of raw commodities to the aluminium smelters. He will also be responsible for developing new growth opportunities at the raw material division including the acquisition and construction of assets.

He will also be drawing on over 25 years of experience in the metals and raw materials business to improve the efficiency of the division as well as achieve UC Rusal’s strategic goal of self-sufficiency in raw materials.

Otroschenko began his career at the Kuznetsk metals plant working as a steel engineer. Between 1994 and 1997 he worked as the deputy head of the raw materials and fuel unit at the Novolipetsk metals plant. He also worked as the deputy general director, head of refractory products procurement and sales unit at Evrazholding between 2001 and 2005. Before joining UC Rusal Otroschenko was CEO of Estar Trading House.
