UniCredit has appointed Holger Frank as head of the financial institutions group (FIG) and global transaction banking (GTB) in Asia Pacific, effective immediately.

The combination of the FIG and GTB teams in the region will help the bank better meet the needs of its Asia clients, it says. Frank is based in Hong Kong and reports to Andreas Wagner, head of corporate investment banking Asia Pacific and manager of the Hong Kong branch.

Frank succeeds KK Tay, former head of GTB in Asia Pacific, who left the bank at the end of December 2015 after five years in the role, and Oliver Hoffmann, former head of FIG in Asia Pacific, who also left at the end of December 2015 to join the Erste Group as managing director and head of Asia.

Frank joined UniCredit in 1991 and has worked in various roles including risk management, corporate banking network, corporate development, M&A and FIG.
