The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), has appointed Santiago Assalini director of corporate risk.

He will be responsible for risk management, reinsurance, investment portfolio and financial reporting at the agency.

Assalini has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He held a number of positions in investment banking and credit and country risk management at JP Morgan, advising clients on corporate finance, debt issuance, privatisations and debt restructuring.

He also worked for Standard Bank of South Africa as chief credit officer for wholesale operations and as chief risk officer for the Americas.

Keiko Honda, MIGA’s executive vice-president and CEO says: “[Santiago’s] is a critical role at MIGA, as our strong risk management and financial performance allow us to support investors in challenging contexts — where their ability to create jobs, transfer skills, improve infrastructure, and contribute to economic growth is most needed.”
