London Forfaiting Company (LFC) has recruited three new staff members – an experienced forfaiter and two graduate trainees – to its London and New York offices.

Martin Ashurst joins LFC from Banco Internacional do Funchal (Banif), where he worked for three years as a senior trader in their London trade finance team. Before that, he was based at Hungarian International Finance for 10 years.

Ashurst joins LFC as a senior manager at its London head office. He will be responsible for further developing funding and related facilities at LFC, to support the expansion of the company’s activities. Ashurst will also work closely with LFC’s marketing and trading teams, where it is understood that his many years of experience in trade finance, forfaiting and financial institutions will make a valued contribution to the business.

The two graduate trainees will each be based at LFC’s London and New York offices.

Simon Lay, managing director of LFC comments on the new hires: “We believe these recruitments will help LFC build upon its successes and remain one of the pre-eminent institutions in the forfaiting and the trade finance markets.”
