JP Morgan has recruited Christine Tan to head its multinational subsidiary client (MNC) coverage in Asia Pacific.

As managing director, Tan will be based in Singapore, reporting locally to Asia Pacific head of the global corporate bank Muhammad Aurangzeb, and functionally to head of multinational subsidiary coverage Mike Brown.

Tan’s hire completes JP Morgan’s team of regional MNC coverage heads and reinforces its focus on the Asia Pacific region, which the bank has identified as a key growth market.

Tan previously worked as head of regional treasury sales for South Asia at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she was responsible for developing and executing the bank’s sales strategy for Asian subsidiary business of multinational clients, and for large corporates in the region.

Before that, Tan spent 12 years at Citi in a number of roles across Asia, including head of the bank’s Hong Kong global subsidiaries group, for which she led the multinational client relationship team.

During her time at Citi, Tan also worked as an analyst covering Asian airlines and airports, and engaged in aircraft financing through structured trade finance, global cash management and fuel hedging for airlines.
