HSBC has appointed Tze Tze Lee as head of product and propositions within its global trade and receivables finance (GTRF) team in Singapore. This newly-created role is part of the bank’s three-year strategic plan – launched in 2018 – to boost its regional coverage from the city-state.

Lee joins the bank from OCBC Bank, where she had served as head of product management since 2016. Her prior experience also includes a stint as head of transaction banking product management at SEB, as well as 20 years at DBS Bank.

In her new role, Lee will report to Iain Morrison, country head of GTRF, and to Sanjay Tandon, APAC head of product and propositions.

Commenting on Lee’s appointment, Morrison says: “Tze Tze’s knowledge of the Singapore and regional trade finance market will be invaluable at a crucial time for global trade. There is no doubt that the trade environment is facing new challenges and opportunities; that’s why we need the best talent. With Tze Tze’s many years of experience, we are well-positioned to continue providing best in class solutions for our clients.”

The hire comes as HSBC Singapore aims to increase its headcount across the entire business by more than 10% by 2021 as part of its plan to increase market share.
