Trade credit insurance provider Equinox Global has added to its New York and Hamburg teams.

Joe McNamara has been named vice-president, credit and political risk in the US. He was most recently director of financial services and business operations at Samsung Electronics, where he was responsible for managing the North American credit policy. He also oversaw the purchase of one of the US’s largest trade credit insurance programmes.

Before this, he worked for insurance company Kamper as well as Castrol and Panasonic. McNamara still serves as chairman of the Federation of Credit and Finance Professionals.

In Hamburg, the company has appointed Dagmar Bohning as underwriting manager. She joins Equinox from Aon, where she was senior account manager, before which she worked for ABE International, Euler Hermes and ING. She has expertise in credit analysis and policy underwriting and will help oversee the expansion of the company’s German operations.

CEO Mike Holley says on the appointments: “We are delighted to welcome Joe and Dagmar to the Equinox Global team and their appointments demonstrate our dedication to growing Equinox’s international capabilities. Both are well respected in the industry and bring with them a wealth of experience and expertise which will be invaluable in helping us grow our business across North America and in the German market.”
