Deutsche bank has hired veteran banker Werner Schmidt as head of structured trade and export finance for Germany.

Schmidt brings more than 30 years’ experience in corporate and investment banking to the position.

He joins Deutsche’s global transaction banking division from UniCredit, where he was regional head of international financial institutions for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.

“Werner is an important addition to our management team in our German home market,” says Schmidt’s regional boss and regional head of trade finance and cash management corporates for Germany at Deutsche Bank, Kees Hoving.

“His experience and industry knowledge will further strengthen our established transaction banking footprint in Germany.”
