UniCredit has snapped up Deutsche Bank’s Luca Corsini as its new global head of trade finance, with immediate effect.

Corsini, who had been heading Deutsche Bank’s Emea trade finance department since 2006, is now responsible for the development of trade and supply chain finance products, for corporate clients and financial institutions at UniCredit.

The head of trade finance role is one that has been vacant for a period. Corsini has now been hired as part of the bank’s overall strategy to reinforce the business unit, explains a Unicredit spokesperson to GTR.

Previously, Corsini has worked in corporate banking for Snamprogetti and Pirelli, as well as in trade and export finance for ABN Amro and Barclays.

UniCredit has also appointed Elena Belli as head of global transaction banking (GTB) business management. Belli has been with the bank since 2001. In her most recent role she led the corporate business intelligence and offer strategy unit within commercial banking in Italy.

Corsini and Belli are both based in Milan and report to Claudio Camozzo and Jan Kupfer, the co-heads of GTB.
