Gabriel Buck has left Barclays Capital following a restructuring of the bank’s ECA and capex division, which he previously headed up, GTR has learned.

The move follows a larger refocus for the bank: new chairman John MacFarlane notoriously vowed to speed up the bank’s restructuring back in April on his first day on the job.

It is thought that Buck, who has spent the last 35 years at the bank, will be retiring, though an unnamed source tells GTR that he will be taking time to reflect and seek out new opportunities.

He will remain in his position as chairman of the BBA Export Committee and as the only banking representative on the Cole Commission.
