Atul Jain has been named head of trade finance and trade flow, Asia Pacific, at Deutsche Bank.

He replaces Shivkumar Seerapu, who recently left to join Lloyds. Jain is based in Singapore and reports to Daniel Schmand, global head of trade finance, Michael Dietz, global head of trade finance flow, and Lisa Robins, Asia Pacific head of global transaction banking.

Jain was most recently regional chief operating officer within the Asia Pacific transaction banking business, before which he was acting head of group strategy, also in Asia. He began his career with Deutsche Bank in the US.

“We are delighted to see Atul taking on this new role. With his deep understanding of the transaction banking business in the region and his leadership qualities, I am confident that he will be very successful,” says Robins.

Schmand says: “With Atul at the helm of our Asia Pacific business, we hope to build on our momentum in the region and to continue to serve our growing client base with best-in-class solutions.”

“Atul’s deep understanding of trade finance will bring a new dimension to the way we operate, which will be very beneficial as we need to adapt to the global environment. I look forward to working with him,” adds Dietz.
