ANZ has named Richard Dawson as head of loans and specialised finance, international.

Based in Hong Kong, Dawson joins the bank from KPMG, where he headed the debt advisory group in London. He begins his role on April 23 and reports to Christina Tonkin, managing director of loans and specialised finance in the bank’s Sydney operations, and Farhan Faruqui, CEO of international banking.

Dawson has worked with KPMG in London and Hong Kong since 2011. He previously held roles at RBS and ABN Amro, where he was global head of syndicated loans.

Tonkin says: “His extensive experience successfully leading geographically dispersed teams responsible for origination and delivery of bonds, syndicated loans, acquisition finance, and export, project and commodity finance will make him a great addition to the business.”
