ABC International Bank (ABCICB) has appointed David Lilley as head of European trade finance.

Commenting on his appointment Lilley says: “The mandate that ABCIB has to utilise its considerable expertise in providing trade finance services to its clients, combined with its specialist knowledge of the Mena region, makes this a particularly exciting proposition to become involved in.”

Lilley, who will be reporting to Paul Jennings, global head of trade finance at ABCIB, has many years of experience in the trade finance market. He has been closely involved with the International Forfaiting Association, where until recently he served as a board member, and is now a member of the steering committee, charged with formulating a set of rules for the forfaiting market in conjunction with the ICC.

Before joining ABCIB, Lilley held the position of global head of forfaiting, global trade finance at SMBC Europe. Before this, Lilley worked for the London Forfaiting Company for some 18 years, where for the last six of those, he was a main board director.
